5 SIMPLE TIPS TO SAVE MONEY & INCREASE EFFIENCY OF YOUR HVAC EQUIPMENT

  1. Filter neglect is the #1 reason for poor efficiency in most heating and air conditioning systems and for equipment failure.

  2. Filter should be inspected and or changed bi monthly or monthly depending on dust exposure and pets in the home.

  3. Air conditioning units should be kept clear of all vegitation and debris near or around the outside coil.

  4. Air conditioning units should be protected from sprinklers in hard water areas and pet urine. these elements destroy aluminum coils and decrease efficiency of unit and create leaks in the system.

  5. Leave all air vents open to prevent over heating in the heating mode and icing up in the cooling mode. to slow the air flow to a specific room, close the door to that room once room is pressurized with air. this will slow the rate of air into the room.

  • Is the system or equipment on its last leg?
Excessive energy consumption and frequent repairs are the signs of a system at the end of its time. If the heating system is more than 15 years old, replacing the aging system can save time & money. If the system is less than 15 years old, routine maintenance may be beneficial. An annual check up can significantly increase your heating systems performance and extend the life of the unit.

  • Are your energy bills going up every month?
By replacing an older furnace with energy efficient equipment, homeowners can save up to 50% monthly and thousands of dollars over a five year period.

  •
  • Is your system still covered by a warranty?
If the existing system is still under warranty, it may make sense to have the system repaired depending on the type of coverage the warranty offers. If there is no warranty left on the existing system, homeowners may want to consider a new system that comes with an entirely new warranty. Depending on the system some offer 10 years on parts and heat exchangers.

*** Right now is a great time to consider new heating & air conditioning equipment and replacement. generous rebates are being offered by local union #104 and by many manufactures.
